Vlog 8: Our RV Slide-Out Floor Fell — So We Fixed It Ourselves
The slide-out floor gave out. Not ideal. But we fixed it ourselves, did the full maintenance, and learned more than we wanted to know about wheel bearings.
sometimes the floor falls.
not the whole floor. the slide-out floor. which is the section of flooring that extends with the slide-out when you’re parked. ours decided it was done.
so this vlog is a different kind of travel content — the part that doesn’t show up in the highlight reel. maintenance days. the ones where you’re on your hands and knees with tools you didn’t think you’d need, watching YouTube tutorials about your exact rig, and just figuring it out.
we did the slide-out floor repair. we did the full slide-out maintenance. and then one of us got into a story about repacking wheel bearings that went longer than intended but was fully educational.
RV life is beautiful and it’s also a rolling maintenance project. the two things are not in conflict. this is part of it, and we wanted to show it.
